The Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District, and Chairman Senate Committee on Works, Senator (Chief) Allwell Onyesoh, DSSRS has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON for his outstanding leadership, commitment to the development of Rivers State, and contributions to national development.
Senator Onyesoh made the remarks during the grand finale and inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors held in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The event was coordinated by the State Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Desmond Akawo.
Speaking at the occasion, Senator Onyesoh described Chief Wike as a leader whose impact transcends political office, noting that his leadership has produced and empowered many Rivers sons and daughters who are today serving the nation in various strategic capacities.
He further stated that Rivers people are O.K with the emergence of Hon. O.K. Chinda as the APCโs governorship flag bearer, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership for the state when elected.
The lawmaker also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for appointing Chief Wike as Minister of the FCT, noting that the minister’s developmental strides have transformed Abuja and earned widespread commendations across the country.
“I want to thank our leader, Chief E.N. Wike. God has used him to bless many people and position Rivers men and women in important national assignments. His achievements in the FCT are visible for all to see, and we remain proud of his service to our state and the nation,” Senator Onyesoh said.
Among dignitaries present at the event were APC governorship flag bearer, Hon. O.K. Chinda; Nigeria Ambassador-
to Ireland, O.C.J. Okocha; Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule; and other political leaders and stakeholders.
Following the event, Chief Wike hosted members of the Rainbow Coalition in Port Harcourt in celebration of candidates of the APC, PDP, AA and LP participating in the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering further reinforced the coalition’s commitment to unity, reconciliation, and collective efforts towards the political advancement and development of Rivers State.
