Banigo Receives NMA Presidential Award for Contributions to Healthcare

Senator Ipalibo Harry Banigo has been honoured with a Presidential Award by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in recognition of her contributions to the health sector.

The award was presented during the association’s formal ceremony and received on her behalf by Dr. Obinna Edwin Awiaka. It was later formally handed over to the senator at her office at the National Assembly.

Reacting to the recognition, Senator Banigo expressed appreciation to the NMA, describing the award as encouraging and meaningful. She said the honour reflects not only her personal efforts but also the work of colleagues and partners committed to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

In her message to the NMA President and members of the National Officers’ Committee, she reaffirmed her commitment to supporting policies that strengthen the health sector and promote professional standards in medical practice.

The award highlights her ongoing involvement in health related legislative work and advocacy within the National Assembly.
