Oseni scores Gov. Bello high on security

By Halimat Isah

Kogi Central Senator, Yakubu Oseni has on Friday scored Governor Yahaya Bello-led government high on the achievements recorded so far in addressing insecurity in the state.

The lawmaker who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/ Cybercrime gave the commendation when he accompanied the Governor on the official launch of Ayem Akpatuma II, a second phase of what is also known as ‘Cat Race’, an effort established by the Nigerian Army to combat insecurity generally in the states across the country.

Senator Oseni reflected with nostalgia how banditry and kidnapping were fast becoming lucrative business to perpetrators before Governor Yahaya Bello’s divine intervention in 2016 and made the state unbearable for the men of the underworld.

“The Governor knows that no reasonable development could take place amidst wanton insecurity that hitherto bedeviled the state and on the verge of crippling its economic activities. On assumption of office and with high sense of responsibility, he quickly set out his plans to correct the menace by corroborating with security agencies to dislodge criminal elements terrorizing innocent citizens.

“His effort of course paid off when the Confluence State became one of the safest states in the country, a feat that attracted several commendation and awards from reputable organizations in the country”, he revealed.

While calling on the people of Kogi State to vote Governor Yahaya Bello for second term in office in order to consolidate on his achievements in all sectors, Senator Oseni reiterated that the state has never fared this better since its creation.

To this end, the senator called on the people of Kogi State to as a matter of service and good citizenship irrespective of party affiliation, tribe or religion rise in support Governor Bello’s efforts to achieve his vision of a crime- free state.

Speaking further, Senator Oseni said the launch of the second phase of the anti-crime operations by the military would go a long way in surpressing the activities of the men of the underworld still operating within Kogi borders.

“I have no doubt that with our ever vibrant state Governor and his resourceful Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, the state is on his path of robust socio-economic prosperity. They are ready to do more.Support them by voting the All Progressives Congress (APC) come November 16th”, he admonished.
