It was indeed a moment of Jubilation as Mr Olubankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, has yet again won the PDP senatorial ticket to represent the Eti-Osa Constituency of Lagos State.

Although he was declared winner of the PDP senatorial primaries held on May 22, it was cancelled even though he polled 28 out 0f 31 votes cast by the delegates at the primary.

He was able to win with a whooping vote of 24 out of 29 votes as only 29 delegates were involved in the recent exercise. The election started at 4:45p.m and was held at the party’s secretariat on the Alpha Beach road in Eti-Osa Local government area of Lekki.

Banky W contested against Mr Sam Aiboni, a Legal Practitioner. After a screening of the 29 delegates was done, Mr Ojosegun Abayomi announced the absence of two of the delegates. Banky W was declared winner at the end of this exercise and he believed it to be peaceful and transparent.

In his victory speech, he thanked the party for taking its time to ensure that the election was free and fair. He also went ahead to thank the leaders, delegates, party members, presiding officer, INEC, the DSS and police for ensuring a smooth flow of event.
Being a man of humility and deep respect, he didn’t forget to thank his opponent, who he believes is a force to be reckoned with and a brother to him.

He recognized the chaotic state of the nation and pledged to give in his own best, this can be seen when he said, “I believe that we can do so much better, Nigeria is in a heartbreaking place, and we need people that have our interest and that of our nation and community at heart”

He promises to offer so much more as this mantle has being placed on him by his people who solely believes in his capability and repute.

Mr, Aiboni on the other hand, offered his heartfelt wishes to the winner and was grateful to the party for conducting a free and fair election.
