Hon. Chede Garba, the member representing Bali/Gaso Federal Constituency of Taraba state, has confirmed the endorsement of Femi Gbajabiamila as the speaker of the ninth House of Representatives by him, the APC leadership and asked his colleagues step down and support.

Hon. Chede Garba said this during a meeting with nassnewsng correspondent in the House of Representatives where he unanimously endorsed the candidature of Hon Femi Gbajabiamila as the next speaker for the 9th Assembly.

“We are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that Hon Gbajabiamila has garnered the prerequisite experience, leadership skills and where withal to successfully lead the ‘green chamber’ and ensure that we have a smooth working relationship with the executive arm of government at the national level,” he said as highlighted by the APC on some of its social media platform on Wednesday, May 2.

nassnewsng in an interview with Hon. Chede Garba, on Tuesday, April 30, met with over 90 percent of all members-elect cutting across all political parties.

The Taraba elect member said as a party member, they have been given the guidelines to follow, in following the party guide lies the help needed to salvage the masses from hunger and poverty.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari had settled for Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as Senate president and speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively, in the interest of the nation.

The APC chief claimed that “excellence, loyalty and experiences in the affairs of the legislature by the duo informed President Buhari’s support.”

He said”if anyone will go against the will of the party, the President, then will be left alone to bear the consequences. No one wins election alone without the party. The leadership of the party has told us to support Gbajabiamaila, if anyone goes against it, he is disobedient to the party which means you don’t believe in the party leadership. It is the party people voted for and not an individual. You have no choice than to go by the Party decision”.

Hon. Chede Garba adviced his colleagues who are agitating for the post of the Speaker to drop their ambition and support Gbajabiamaila for the best interest of the masses.
