Buhari’s victory, a reflection of masses love- Ekiti Rep-elect, Bamisile
Femi Awojobi, Ekiti
A member of the House of Representatives-elect in Ekiti South federal constituency II, Hon. Femi Bamisile says the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari at the poll was as a result of the love and trust of Nigerian masses for the Preaident as a man of honour and integrity.
Bamisile who also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on their re-election by Nigerians made the assertion in a release made available to newsmem in Ado Ekiti.
“The victory of President Buhari at the just concluded presidential election was a true reflection of the masses love for him against the notion of few Elites. Various policies and programmes of the present federal government have no doubt been targetted towards the majority of the Citizens”.
Therefore, Nigerian Democarcy had grown beyond what was used to be in the past, especially in the area of transparency, fairness and credibility of the electoral process. Many big names couldn’t make it during the poll whereas unknown names won.
The latest development had proved the pessimists wrong on the Nigerian electoral process. Nigerians are now having more confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commision INEC’s ability to deliver acceptable polls.
The former Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker noted that, his experience during the on-going general elections had further broadening his knowledge on the value and importance of the electorate as the major players in Democracy.
“Politicians can now look down on voters at their own peril but accord them the desired values and recognition through performance will surely guaranteed you their votes to serve them”.
The beauty of the just concluded elections was that,it will afford both Politicians and electorate the opportunity to be more cordial and sincere in relationship in the game of politics.
The federal Legislator-elect explained that, though he had knew how important the electorate are before, having contested elections in the past but the 2019 elections had added to his political experience on the need for any representative to always live above board.
It is now a catastrophe and absurd for any elected or appointed Politicians to get into a position and believe he had arrived without looking back to deliver the dividends of Democracy to the People but rush to them when election is around the corner. No; it doesn’t work that way again in Nigeria.
According to him, his major priority at the lower Chamber of the National Assembly will be, to contribute on bills and motions that will develop the country especially his constituency and Ekiti State in general.
Many Nigerian laws are long over- due for a revisit inorder for them to have meaningful impacts on the lives of all Citizenry, hence all hands will be on deck to do the needful in this regard.
Hon. Bamisile commended Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi for embarking on peoples’ oriented policies and all electorate in the State for voting all APC Candidates during the last weekend polls and further assured them of dividends of Democracy.
