South African attack: Lawan seeks solution

The senate president, Almed Lawan has seek alternative measure to ensure that Nigerians’ do not loose their lives in south Africa.
Lawan disclosed this on Monday 29th July at National Assembly,Abuja during the ministerial screening of the Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema.
Lawan explained his great concern as the third citizen and the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the lives of innocent Nigerian’s being killed for no reason in south Africa.
“we will not sit back and watch Nigerians’ loose their lives in another mans land when we have capable hands to rectify the issues”.
He therefore asked the former minister Onyema if he return to Foreign Affairs, what he will do differently to ensure that Nigerians’ do not loose their lives anymore over there.
Onyema in his response explained that the level of crime in south Africa is extremely high, adding that the killing is as a result of criminal challenge within the Nigerian community over there.
He further stated that the solution is to reduce the number of missions and it requires a high level of government commitment, adding that if there is any challenge that they should immediately report to their embassy.
