The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, and his wife, Mrs. Offiong Jarigbe, Ph.D., on Sunday joined other well-meaning Cross Riverians at a birthday thanksgiving service and reception dinner held in honour of the First Lady of Cross River State, Bishop Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.
The thanksgiving service took place at the Voice of God Christian Mission, Calabar, while the reception dinner was held at the State Banquet Hall. Both events attracted a large gathering of dignitaries and well-wishers who came to celebrate the First Lady.
Speaking at the events, Senator Jarigbe extolled the virtues of the First Lady, describing her as a woman of grace, discipline, and strong spiritual influence. He noted that her contributions have brought a sense of orderliness and purpose to governance in the state.
The lawmaker further remarked that attaining the age of 62 reflects not merely the passage of time, but a life marked by uncommon grace, spiritual strength, and selfless service to the state and humanity.
“As members of the National Assembly, we are indeed privileged to benefit from your unique blend of political insight and spiritual mentorship, alongside that of your husband, our leader,” he said.
He added, “We thank God for the grace bestowed upon you, making you a pillar of support to His Excellency and an inspiration to all of us who look up to your leadership.”
The reception dinner at the State Banquet Hall was attended by members of the National Assembly, top government functionaries, and Cross Riverians from all walks of life, as they celebrated the First Lady’s life, legacy, and continued service.
