NTAC DG Hails Tinubu’s Backing as 14 Returning Volunteers Reinforce Nigeria’s Global Goodwill
The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support for the Technical Aid Corps (TAC) Scheme, describing the administration’s commitment as instrumental in strengthening Nigeria’s image and goodwill across Africa through volunteer diplomacy.
The Director-General made the remarks on Monday at the NTAC Headquarters in Abuja while receiving 14 Nigerian Technical Aid Corps Volunteers who successfully completed their 24-month assignments in the Republics of Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone.
Rt. Hon. Buba praised the returning Volunteers for serving as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria, noting that their professionalism, dedication and expertise had further enhanced the country’s reputation and reinforced the objectives of the TAC Scheme as a vital instrument of Nigeria’s foreign policy and South-South cooperation.
He said the achievements of the Volunteers reflected Nigeria’s commitment to promoting human capital development and fostering stronger bilateral relations with partner nations through the deployment of skilled professionals.
The Director-General further stated that the continued support of President Tinubu’s administration has revitalised the Technical Aid Corps Scheme, enabling it to sustain its mission of exporting Nigerian expertise while projecting the country’s values of excellence, service and solidarity on the global stage.
He encouraged the returning Volunteers to remain ambassadors of the Scheme even after completing their assignments, urging them to continue contributing to national development by sharing the wealth of experience gained during their international service.
The 14 Volunteers, who served in various professional capacities in Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone over the last two years, were formally welcomed back during a debriefing session at the NTAC Complex, where they reflected on their experiences and contributions in their host countries.
