National Assembly Has Been Called Upon To Resolve FG, NLC Feud

National assembly has been called upon to intervene between the federal government and Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC), in order to restore good relationship between the two sides on the issue of minimum wage, especially at present when the issue of 2019 general election draws nearer.

The call was made by a retired civil servant, Malam Ubale Salisu in an interview with Nigerian Assembly News Correspondent in kano, adding that it is time for the National Assembly to wade into the matter and resolve the misunderstandings between the federal government and the Nigerian Labour congress in order to ensure peacefull co-existence in the Labour system.

He disclosed that the national assembly can intervene and bring sanity into the matter because according to him, the legislative arm has the mandate to wade into various crises and resolves them with the aim of making things better especially issues related to misunderstandings between the government and the workers.

Malam Ubale added that ” We are calling on the national assembly l, as a legislative body of our country, to as a matter of urgency intervene into the feud between the federal government and the Nigerian labour congress in order to resolve the issues of the minimum wage for the restoration of labour and productivity for the progress of our dear nation”. He said.

In conclussion, the retired civil servant called on the labour union to resolve with the federal government due to allow the implementation of the issue of minimum wage because every worker is certain that this administration is making good effort to ensure that every sector is touched in terms of salary increase as according to the labour regulations.
