NASS INVESTIGATES THE NATIONS FOUR REFINERY, REQUEST TO SEE MR PRESIDENT

The National Assembly has started investigating the state of the nations four refineries, their turn around maintenance and regular / modular licensed refineries on Monday 7th May 2018.
The Speaker of House of Representative Yakubu Dogara inaugurated an Adhoc committee veto with the power to conduct the investigation from section 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and the House Rules.
The committee chaired by Hon. Datti Garba Muhammad is to ascertain the viability of continuing investments of public funds on the nations four refineries and allocation pf 445 00bpd crude utilization for the same purpose, determine the current utilization level of Warri, Kaduna and Port-Harcourt refineries, carry out a comprehensive investigation on the Turn Around Maintenance TAM carried out to date on the refineries and to identify the private and corporate individuals that have refused to utilize the licences, the readiness and status of all current licence holders and report back to the House for further legislative action.
The Committees seeks to see President Buhari as the minister in charge of the petroleum sector, and to invoke its full powers to avert any attempt to undermine the House in the noble cause.
