My name is Hon. Muda Lawal Umar I represent Toro Federal Constituency from Bauchi state.
Question – May I know little about you, how was growing up like, what necessitated you into joining politics?
l grew up in Bauchi town, I did my Secondary School in Bauchi and partly in Abuja. I went to University outside the country came back and started business did it for a while and found myself in politics.
Question- Since you joined politics what have you done differently? How has it been trying to achieve these goals you set for yourself?
I made it clear for my people the day I declared my intentions to them that I will work hard to represent them well. In terms of infrastructural development, and proper legislative representation, I have done so well. I have presented quite a lot of Bill’s, made Motions and in terms of intervention, I brought a lot for education, agriculture etc.
Question- let’s talk about the Bill “for an Act to pro- vide for the Establishment of Federal Cancer Center, Bauchi state and for related Matters”, what instigated you to bring up this Bill sir?
To me knowing the hardship my people face, I feel establishing the center will ease a lot of hardship that my people go through. It will benefit a lot of people within the area.
Question- As 2023 draws nearer, what’s your agenda for your constituents?
Elections are coming we are waiting to hear what our party will decide. Then we will take it step by step.
Question- Lets elaborate on your achievements, one or two things within and outside your constituency?
To me within the National Assembly, the Bill’s and the Motions made in my name. And one of the most important Motions I moved was calling on Federal Government to declare a National emergency on youth development and which I felt is a very important Motion looking at the plight of our youth in the country. I also moved a Motion calling on security intervention regarding my local government. I moved Motion calling on CBN to enforce the use of coins in the country.
Question- How will you score the security situation in this country?
At the moment it’s not good it’s a very desperate situation as everyday there’s a lot of security issues. At the National Assembly we have done our part by moving Motions about it, several Bill’s and lots more.
Question- what’s your message for your constituents?
I have done my best, and will want their prayers and support if given the opportunity we can do better than this.
It’s a pleasure!
