KIVTSD hails Governor at 3-year mark, says new institute now Nigeria’s top vocational hub
The Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, KIVTSD, has described Governor Uba Sani’s three years in office as “a milestone of transformation,” crediting him with turning the state into Nigeria’s skills capital.
In a statement issued over the weekend, the Management and Staff of KIVTSD, led by Provost Alhaji Husaini Muhammad, congratulated Governor Uba Sani on his third anniversary in office. The institute said the Governor’s “visionary leadership” gave birth to the brand-new KIVTSD, which is already equipping thousands of young people, including persons with disabilities, with globally certified skills.
Though newly established, KIVTSD has quickly emerged as Nigeria’s leading institution in vocational and technology skills training, the statement noted. With a capacity to produce 32,000 skilled personnel annually, the institute operates three state-of-the-art campuses across Kaduna’s senatorial zones.
KIVTSD said it is bridging the skills gap through hands-on, industry-relevant programmes that meet local and international standards. Its graduates, empowered with Recognition of Prior Learning, RPL, Nigerian Skills Qualifications, NSQ, and othercompetency-based certifications, are “driving innovation, economic growth, and social progress across the nation.”
The institute added that training is delivered free from religious bias and targets candidates with or without formal education. It emphasized inclusiveness, with strong representation of women and persons with disabilities among learners and instructors.
“This achievement stands as a beacon of transformation for Nigerian youth,” the statement read. “Your Excellency has done what no Governor has ever done in Nigeria’s history since independence, laying a foundation that will be remembered for generations yet unborn. You have given people not just hope, but the means to earn a living.”
The Management celebrated what it called the Governor’s dedication, foresight, and unwavering commitment to empowering the people of Kaduna State and beyond, praying that his tenure “continue to inspire progress and prosperity.”
