REPS TO INVESTIGATE THE ALLEGED FRAUDULENT DIVERSION OF #62.3B IN NSITF
The members of the House of Representatives moves motion to investigate the non inauguration of the the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Funds (NSITF) board and the alleged fraudulent diversion of the of 62.3 billion naria by it past board at the plenary on Tuesday.
The lawmakers said that the EFCC have discovered various act of fraudulent diversion from the Federal Government and private sector contributions amounting to 62.3 billion as at 2015 which was perpetrated by the past board and management staff of NSITF.
The lawmakers said that it is worried that the perpetuation of this alleged inauguration of the NSITF board has thrown the Agency into a state of confusion and left it responsibility to the General Public. The house further said that the general public including stakeholders such as the Nigeria labour congress (NLC) have called for a quick intervention.
The House has urge Committee on Labour, employment and productivity to conduct an investigative hearing into the non inauguration of the NSITF board and the allegation of diversion of funds by the past board and also to determine the true financial position of the NSITF from the period of 2011 to date and report back to the house in six weeks.
