UNLAWFUL DISMISSAL: REP. JIMBO CALLS FOR REINSTATEMENT OF MR. UDOEKONG INIBEHE INTO THE NIGERIAN ARMY


Rep. Clement Jimbo, Ebullient Member Representing Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, at Plenary today presented a Petition for reinstatement of Mr. Udoekong Inibehe into the Nigerian Army.

The petition titled “UNLAWFUL SUSPENSION FROM THE NIGERIAN ARMY, AN APPEAL FOR REINSTATEMENT OF UDOEKONG INIEBEHE” is against the backdrop of unlawful suspension of the lawmaker’s constituents from the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Presenting the Motion at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Rep. Jimbo reiterated that he is standing in the gap to appeal on behalf of his constituents who has exlpored all official means for his reinstatement without positive response.

Here him “I am standing in the gap, voicing out against this injustice, especially as the petitioner had presented the matter congruently and according to military signals and hierarchy.
I humbly request that this petition be officially received and acknowledged by the House and forward same to the appropriate committees for thorough scrutiny and investigation.”

Jimbo, who is the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, also pleaded that the diligent services rendered by Mr. Inibehe in the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Nigerian Army and in combating Boko Haram insurgency in Borno State should endear the House to have compassion on Mr. Inibehe for his urgent reinstatement so he can continue with his good works of defending the Nation.

 

“Also, pleading that the house looks into this petitioner’s successful participation for (2) years in four counter-terrorist operations in Maiduguri as a Patriotic disposition to duty for his Nation that should be encouraged and rewarded for justice and posterity standpoint.
I rest my case.” – Rep. Jimbo pleaded.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, after the presentation of the petition, commended Rep. Jimbo for championing the course of his constituents and referred the matter to House Committee on Public Petition and Army.
