The Nigeria Shippers Council today commences the 15th Maritime Seminar for Judges at Sheraton Abuja Hotel. The Maritime Seminar is to be held from 3rd to 5th July, 2018.
In a press briefing released by the Chairman Governing Board of Nigeria Shipper’s Council, Hon. Mai Mala Buni expressed the importance of maritime sector to the nation’s economy, especially at this time of recession and drastic fall in oil prices, cannot be over stated. Being one of the highest revenue generation sectors after the oil, the maritime sector needs to be given adequate attention in order to be well placed to cushion the adverse effect of the drastic fall in oil prices.
He said, there is no any better forum than this, where experts could come together to rub minds on how to better position the maritime sector to meet international standard and profitability. The Maritime is international in nature, maritime law experts should regularly participate in international seminars such as this one, in order to widen their knowledge and better positioned to handle issues relating to developments of maritime sector effectively.
