CONFIRMATION OF COMMISSIONER DESIGNATE

The Enugu state House of Assembly has confirmed the 3 commissioner designate.They were confirmed as commissioner after series of questions and Answer session with them.They were also asked to sing the national anthem.
The lawmakers then rebuked them for presenting only their curricular vitae (CV) with attaching it with their certificates,which generated lots of arguments.But they were later pardoned.
The high points of this deliberation was when the speaker Hon.Edward Uchenna Ubosi asked"those in favour say I" and the I's have it
The commissioners are Dr ogbo while Ngene okechukwu was confirmed as a director in Enugu state Electoral commission.

END OF FIRST PHASE OF SPEAKERS' BOXING TALENT HUNT.
The Enugu house committee chairman on sports, Hon.Nelson Oduchi has commended the speaker Enugu house of Assembly Hon.Edward Ubosi on his boxing talent hunt,which has just ended is first phase. This commended took place at the house of Assembly conference hall during an interactive session the speaker had with News men.
The speaker Hon.Edward Ubosi in his own speech ,made it known that the boxing talent hunt is his pet-project.He noted that there has been a decline on the number of young people who takes interest in the sports as a career.
He further stressed that this move is to revive boxing in the state and called on well meaning Nigeria to support this idea by funding the sports.
Former Olympic champion and co-coordinator of the boxing competition Ikechukwu Okoronkwo said that they have visited over 200 secondary schools in the in the first phase.He added that more school will be visited by September when the second phase of the talent hunt will start.Again, that all the competitors are tested for physical fitness before they are chosen for the competition.
Later,the speaker took the delivery of the Trophy and other boxing equipment bought for the second phase of the competition.

THE SPEAKER'S DEVELOPMENT STRIDE

The speaker Enugu House of Assembly Hon. Edward Ubosi has called on political office holders to provide,which will go along way to make the people to reap the dividends of democracy.

He made this assertion at the opening ceremony of the road he constructed at Enugu East local government area.

He told news men that the road was almost a death trap the last time he played on it,but now the people are happy for it.

Villagers who were present expressed joy over the development stride of the lawmaker and further praised the synergy between the executive arm and the legislative arm over the road project.

Adhoc committee finding

The chairman of the joint adhoc committee of Enugu state House of Assembly on the land & revenue sharing dispute between Akwuke and Akwuke Uwani communities both in Enugu south Local Government Area of Enugu state ,chief Hon Matthias Ekweremadu has said that time for peaceful co-existence between the two communities has come because they have done a thorough job to ascertain the remote causes and ways to resolve the land dispute.

He made this known at the presentation of their report at plenary.

In his Acceptance speech,the speaker Hon.Edward Ubosi commended the committee for a work -well-done.

He then added that the document will be properly studied before any pronouncements will be made.He told the communities involved to maintain the already existing statuesque until government pronouncement is made on the land dispute.

THE SPEAKER ENUGU HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY TALENT HUNT IN BOXING

  The speaker Enugu house of Assembly Hon.Edward Ubosi is talent hunt in boxing continues today at government technical collage,situated opposite shoprite Abakalika road Enugu.

The speaker organise ,Mr ikechukwu okoronkwo said that their choice for secondary schools is to catch them young. Again,that this is to prepare them for upcoming competition at the national state or international level.

Boxing fans are expected to group to the venture today as from evening hours.

ENUGU HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION ON OVER SIGHT FUNCTION

  The chairman Enugu house of Assembly committee on education Hon.Elochukwu Ugwueze and also a member representing Igboeze-south constituency has advice the officials of IMT i.e. institute of management and technology to start off the process of upgrading IMT to a degree awarding institution.He gave this go ahead order ,during their oversight function visit to the institution today.

 In his own speech, the rector of IMT, professor Austin Nweze made it known that they have gone to UNN ie university of Nigeria Nsukka for an affiliation with them which was approved.

 He assumed that after the process of resource verification,the institution will then be in line to be approved for degree awarding.

 Over members of the committee in their own speech told the officials of the institution to guard against indecent dressing of the students as well as examination malpractice,cultists which has become a clogging the will of progress of Education

ENUGU HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY DIRECT OFFICIAL OF ENUGU STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TECHNICAL ON NYSC

The Enugu house of Assembly has directed the officials of Enugu state collage of education 

Technical to brace up to the issue of enrolling their graduates into NSYC ie National youth service corps

In a unanimous decision,the house told the officials of the institution to work out modalities that will ensure their participation in National youth service corps 

They agreed that the time to start is now

It will be recalled that since the inspection of this institution, the graduates have not taken part in NYSC ,hence the call by the Enugu state House of Assembly is highly welcomed one.

——————————————————————-SUBMISSION OF REPORT ON EEDC{ ENUGU ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY}

At the sitting of Enugu state House of Assembly, the finding and recommendations of the Ad hoc committee on EEDC headed by the deputy Spector Hon.Dominic Uzogbado was submitted on flour of the house.

  In his speech ,the deputy speaker showed his displeasure over the way the prepaid meters were not properly calibrated ,again over estimation billing is still going on and indiscriminate disconnection of customers power supply etc.

The Report then Recommended that ,there should be adequate information before disconnection will be affected, again there should also be a second look. At New prepaid meters of EEDC by relevant authorities.

Furthermore ,they called on the National assembly committee on power and NERC ie National Electricity Regulation commission to carefully study their report of the ad hoc committee on EEDC

HONOURABLE PAUL NNAJIOFOR FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH 

The members representing Nkanu west L.G.A at the Enugu house of Assembly.Hon Paul nnajiofor commenced his free medical outreach to his people.

In his speech ,the lawmaker said that this is line with 4 points agenda of the state Government, which among other areas also centers on provision of social welfare and services.

Hon .Paul Nnajiofor who doubles as the house committee chairman on information stressed that lives must be touched positively so as to feel the impact of good governance.

 The rural dwellers present where tested of malaria, Diabetes,Typhoid and much more before drugs where administered.

 The people expressed joy and happiness over the free Health care gesture by the lawmaker and they thanked him

ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT AND EEDC SAGA 

In continuation of the public hearing of the Enugu house of Assembly on the over billing of customers by EEDC i.e. Enugu Electricity Distribution company.The people of Enugu state present at this hearing told EEDC to install prepaid meters and stop billing them on estimation.

If they cannot achieve this, that they should be ready to leave state.The lawmakers then mandated EEDC to stop billing their customers on Estimation and in meter of days install prepaid meter in every household.

It will be recalled ,that at the beginning of this saga ,the power supply to Enugu government house was disconnected by the EEDC and their officials told news men that they were owned #2.6 Billion naira by the government house. They also disconnected the power supply to the resident of the speaker Enugu house of Assembly Hon.Edward ubosi. He on his own was billed #100000 for one month

Those present at this hearing include the Representatives of EEDC, NERC ie National Electricity Regulation commission ,EFCC and some other organization.At the end it was resolved that EEDC customers should stop paying the estimated bills until the prepaid meters are install for them

ENUGU HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ON TETFUND                

The honourable members of the Enugu house of Assembly in a unanimous decision asked the state Government to compel the contractors handling the TETFUND projects at Enugu state owned high institution,

    Most especially the ones at IMT i.e. institute of Management and Technology Enugu to Complete those projects they have collected huge amount of money for.

The lawmakers showed their displeasure over the reckless abandon of those projects to the detriment of students that should have been making use of them.
