Friends and colleagues gathered in Abuja on Monday to celebrate the retirement and birthday of Mrs. Candida Adebukola Esan, marking the end of her years of service with the National Assembly Service Commission and the start of a new chapter in her life.

Friends and colleagues from the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) came together at Mrs. Candida Adebukola Esan’s residence in Kubwa, Abuja, to honour her retirement and birthday in a warm and lively gathering.

The event brought together directors, deputy directors, and staff from different departments, all paying tribute to Mrs. Esan’s years of service and her role in the Department of Public Affairs. Though she officially retired on March 11, 2026, the gathering was organised to celebrate her contributions and wish her well in retirement.

The programme opened with prayers led by Mr. Dele Adeniyi and Hajiya Rukaya Audu.

In his remarks, the Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Anyigor, described Mrs. Esan as one of the early contributors to the growth of the Commission. He commended her dedication and impact over the years, and expressed hope that her retirement would bring her even greater fulfilment.

Several colleagues also shared their experiences working with her. Mr. David Simpa spoke about her openness and willingness to support others, while others highlighted her professionalism and calm approach to work.

As part of the celebration, the Department of Public Affairs, alongside friends and colleagues, presented her with a commemorative glass frame and a cash gift of ₦800,000. The funds were raised collectively in appreciation of her service.

In her response, Mrs. Esan thanked her colleagues for their support and kindness over the years. She encouraged those still in service to remain patient and committed to their duties.

Everything in life is a gift from God, she said.

The event ended on a joyful note, as colleagues celebrated her career and wished her well in the years ahead.
