Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, Minister of State for Finance in Nigeria,is a woman to emulate in all ramifications. Anite bagged the most innovative minister of the year award in this year program of the Nigeria Assembly Orientation and award organized by the NASSNEWS.

NASSNEWS is the foremost Parliament newspaper in Nigeria bridging the gap between the legislators and the constituents. The award is the ninth edition to honor those exceptional in various capacities. The orientation is to enlighten the public about the parliament.
In her acceptance words,she dedicated her award to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and promised to continue to mentor the young and old in various capacities.
This are some of her Key Achievements & Contributions in the past and present that got her the award.
1. Strong Financial and Professional Background
o She transitioned from being a medical doctor (MBBS) to finance, becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
o Worked at Zenith Bank, rising to Group Treasurer, managing very large assets, and demonstrating strong risk-management and asset-liability expertise.
2. Public Sector Reform & Economic Coordination
o As Imo State Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy (appointed in 2021), she played a key role in improving public finance management, optimizing revenue, and plugging revenue leakages.
o Introduced automation in tax collection and revenue administration in Imo State.
3. Ministerial Role in Industry, Trade & Investment
o Before becoming Minister of State for Finance, she was Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment (Aug 2023 – Oct 2024).
o During that time, she helped attract over US$30 billion in investment commitments.
o She relaunched Nigeria’s trade policy (2023–2027) to support export growth.
o Established “One-Stop Export Processing Centres” to make exporting more efficient.
o Launched talent and skills programs like the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) and the “Skill-UP Artisans” (SUPA) initiative to boost skills and entrepreneurship.
4. Capital Market & Fiscal Reforms (as Minister of State for Finance)
o She is focused on capital market reform, modernization of the insurance sector, tax reform, and improving how public debt is managed.
o Advocates for fiscal discipline — improving how government raises revenue, spends, and manages debt for better value spent.
