Speaker Niger State House of Assembly Barrister Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has reiterated commitment in ensuring that specialist hospital get the needed support to improve quality health service delivery in the state.
The speaker stated this when the management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Specialist hospital paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Assembly.
Barrister Bawa Wuse who expressed delight over the visit said the courtesy visit is an enlighten one noting that the chief medical director has given an insight on the kind of services rendered by the hospital which many are not aware of it.
He assured the hospital management that the Assembly will address all the issues raised.
Early in his speech, the chief Medical Director of IBB specialist Hospital Doctor Umar Isah explained that the courtesy visit is to familiarize with the leadership of the house as well as seek the support and cooperation of the Assembly in ensuring effective health service delivery.
He said the hospital is faced with many challenges ranging from over usage of some equipment,funding and salary scale of the health workers among others .
Dr Isah decried that lack of adequate funding has contributed to the stagnation and decay in the public health service in the state.
He commended the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for making two batches of employment appealing for more manpower to match the influx of the teeming patients in the state.
