Chairman, House Committee on Foregn Affairs,Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub,has issued stringent warnings to those who,he said,have been using his name unduly to pursue their personal ideals,adding that he may go beyond mere refutal next time to invoking the full wrath of the law against them.
In a release signed by a lawyer in his office,who is one of his Legislative Aides ,Barr. Abdulkadir Iliyasu and made available to newsmen today in Abuja,the Lawmaker explained that there was no way he or any other Member of the House of Representatives could have been the sponsor of the Executive Bill that was being credited to him.

“RE: *ISLAMIZATION AGENDA :HOW THE PLOT TO CONTROL THE FINANCE OF THE CHURCH CAME ABOUT AND THEIR TOP TARGETS.*
“The attention of the Office of Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub,Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Foreign Affairs, has been drawn to a post authored by one Media Apostle,which is making the rounds on various Social Media platforms. In the aforementioned post, the Media Apostle,in a glaring display of utter falsehood in pursuit of whatever negative goal(s) he has set for himself, attributed the sponsorship of the recent amendment to the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA),a Bill which emanated from the Executive to Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub.
“Following incessant calls by friends, colleagues, family members and members of the public,who hold the Lawmaker and Real Estate mogul in high esteem and feel quite concerned about his public image,we wish to simply state as follows:
“1.That the said Bill is an Executive Bill and could not have been sponsored by Rt. Hon.Yusuf Buba Yakub or any Member of the House for that matter.
“2. That it is totally a product of the figment of the writer’s imagination to merely conjure the name of an Honourable Member of the House ,who,in his warped judgment, is always in the consciousness of the public and will be well- reckoned with, to attribute to him that seemingly innocuous sponsorship and authorship of an amendment that he knows nothing about;
“3. That,in spite of what looks like a deserving credit to Rt. Hon. Buba ,where the so- called Media Apostle states,inter alia, ” _The Companies and Allied Matters Act,2020 Bill which President Buhari signed into law on August 7,2020,is geared towards enhancing the ease of doin business in the country_…” the gentleman Lawmaker does not belong to the league of men who reap where they have not sown and cannot, therefore,take the glory of another, however benefitting it may appear;
“4. That the Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub is a highly patriotic Nigerian,who possesses a network of friends,business associates and colleagues across the entire gamut of the Nigerian nation and beyond and cannot, therefore,reduce himself to pander to such parochial interests of ethnicity, religion and other divisions in his dealings with his many audiences per time.
“It is important at this time, when every movement or action of another is viewed with so much suspicion in our country, to always set every record straight. We wish to, therefore, reiterate our earlier position that ,the CAMA amendment Bill,which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on August 7 this year, was an Executive one which could not have come from any Member of the House of Representatives and that Rt. Yusuf Buba Yakub neither knows the author of that piece using the Bill for his chosen advocacy nor is in any way connected with or supportive of the writer’s curious deductions upon which he bases his obviously wild accusations.
“Consequent upon the foregoing,we wish to warn Mr Media Apostle and other ethnic and religious jingoists like him to be wary of using the well-respected name of the Federal Lawmaker, entrepreneur, philanthropist and farmer to accord undue legitimacy to whatever ideals they may elect to promote anywhere on the Social or mainstream media, as doing so may no longer attract just a refutal, but the full wrath of our legal might”,the Release concluded.
