Lalong Presents INEC’s 2026 Budget Proposal to Senate Appropriations Committee

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, has presented the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) 2026 budget proposal to the Senate Committee on Appropriations for further legislative consideration.

Senator Lalong, who represents Plateau South Senatorial District, appeared before the committee to submit and defend the budget estimates earlier reviewed by his committee.

The session was presided over by the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Tahir Monguno.

The presentation marks a key step in the budget review process, as the Appropriations Committee examines submissions from various committees before the Senate considers and passes the 2026 national budget.
