Akpabio Visits National Assembly Library Trust Fund, Commends Its Role in Law-Making

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday visited the National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF), underscoring the growing importance of research and institutional support in Nigeria’s legislative process.

During the visit, Akpabio was taken on a tour of the complex by the Executive Secretary of the Trust Fund, Hon. Henry Nwawuba. He inspected key sections of the facility and engaged with staff members on their work and challenges.

The Senate President expressed optimism that the NALTF would continue to strengthen legislative work by providing lawmakers with reliable research support and institutional guidance. He noted that the Trust Fund plays a vital role in improving the quality of law-making and supporting democratic governance.

Akpabio added that the establishment of the NALTF reflects the National Assembly’s commitment to building strong institutions that contribute to effective legislation and national development.

He also encouraged the management and staff of the Trust Fund to remain focused on professionalism, innovation, and accountability, stressing that a well-resourced and efficient legislative library is essential for informed decision-making. According to him, sustained investment in research and knowledge management would better equip lawmakers to address the country’s evolving political, social, and economic challenges.
