Abbas Receives Lauya Into APC at National Assembly
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, on Thursday welcomed Rt. Hon. Muhammed Audu Lauya into the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a brief reception at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

Lauya, who recently defected to the ruling party, was presented before a group of APC lawmakers, where the Speaker described the move as a positive development for the party and the House.
Tajudeen said the decision by Lauya to join the APC reflects growing support for the party among lawmakers and strengthens cooperation within the House of Representatives.
He commended Lauya for what he described as a timely decision to align with the party, adding that his experience in the legislature would contribute to the work of the 10th Assembly.

Other lawmakers present at the reception also welcomed the new entrant and assured him of their support as he settles into the APC caucus.
Lauya’s defection further increases the number of APC members in the House, a development observers say could reinforce the party’s influence in legislative activities.
The Speaker reiterated that the APC remains open to members who share its vision for governance and national development.
