Senator Nwebonyi Criticizes Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Over Seat Reallocation Dispute

Senate Deputy Chief Whip Criticizes Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Over Seat Reallocation Resistance

The Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Peter Nwebonyi, has criticized Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for resisting seat reallocation in the Senate. Speaking in an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Nwebonyi expressed concerns over what he described as her refusal to comply with Senate regulations and adjustments.

During the interview, Nwebonyi stated, “Other senators have complied with the reallocation process. Two senators vacated their previous seats, leading to adjustments involving over ten senators. What makes Senator Natasha different that she cannot follow the Senate’s rules? She is not the only senator affected by reallocation. Senator Yayi from Ogun State, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and Senator Wamakko were all reallocated without resistance. So, what makes Senator Natasha’s case special?”

Emphasizing the importance of discipline within the Senate, Nwebonyi added, “The Senate is a highly respected institution. Anyone privileged to be part of it must learn to adapt. Personal interests should be set aside in favor of abiding by the rules and regulations that govern the legislative body.”

He further remarked, “Senator Natasha has a consistent issue with defiance and non-compliance. She believes everything revolves around making noise. If she considers herself intelligent, there are even more intelligent individuals in the Senate. If she prides herself on being outspoken, she should know there are others who are equally, if not more, vocal.”
