REPS THROWN INTO CONFUSION AS SOLICITOR SAYS EX-PENSION BOSS STILL WORKS

The house of Representatives today launched an Investigative Hearing on the disappearing, re-appearance, re-instatement and Promotion of Abdulrasheed Maina, Former Chairman on Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT).

Maina’s solicitor, Mohammed Katu told lawmakers that despite the presidential directive, his client still works, received twenty-three files in his acting capacity as a director in the ministry of Interior,
when he appeared before the House of Representatives committee investigating the matter on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

President Buhari had ordered Maina’s sack on October 23, 2017.

The Honourable members were thrown into confusion due to the denial of involvements in Maina’s re-instatement by the Attorney general, Head of service and the minister of interior where Maina works and receives salary as told by his lawyer.

Earlier, the attorney-general of the Federation, Abubakar Malami told the lawmakers that Maina’s reinstatement letter “could not have emanated from his office.” The Head of Service Oyo Ita told the Lawmakers that she acted as directed by the office of the Attorney general of the Federation on Maina’s re-instatement While the Minister of Interior, Major General Abraham Danbaccau denied having knowledge of Maina’s re-instatement.

Maina’s lawyer blamed Maina’s ‘disappearance’ on threat to his client’s life.

The lawyer insisted the Head of Service delivered the letter of reinstatement to Maina.
