The conferment, which took place at the headquarters of the Technical Aid Corps in Abuja, was described as a gesture of deep appreciation for Rt. Hon. Yakub’s tireless efforts in promoting Nigeria’s technical diplomacy and capacity-building initiatives across Africa and the Caribbean.
Speaking on behalf of the institute, the lead delegate Dr. Akawo commended the DG for his remarkable commitment to service, competence, and professionalism. “We are a professional body that organizes conferences, seminars, and capacity-building programmes in partnership with relevant agencies such as NEMA and other institutions across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones,” he noted. “It’s important for us to identify and honour individuals who not only serve but exceed expectations and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub has consistently stood out in both character and delivery.”
The institute further acknowledged the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and appreciated the openness of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps to collaboration. The DG assured the institute of the Corps’ willingness to explore meaningful partnerships, especially in areas that promote shared capacity, technical cooperation, and institutional development. “We are open to engagements that are mutually beneficial. Our doors remain open to collaborations that align with our values and mandate,” he said.
