The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) on Monday held a debriefing exercise for eleven volunteers who recently returned from Uganda after successfully completing their assignments under the Technical Aid Scheme.
The event, held at the NTAC Conference Room in Jabi, Abuja, brought together management staff of the agency, returning volunteers and stakeholders in Nigeria’s foreign and technical cooperation sector.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NTAC, Yusuf Buba Yakub, commended the volunteers for representing Nigeria positively during their stay in Uganda and contributing meaningfully to the country’s Technical Diplomacy initiative.
He described the volunteers as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria who demonstrated professionalism, commitment and patriotism throughout their assignments.
The NTAC boss noted that the Technical Aid Scheme remains one of Nigeria’s key foreign policy tools for strengthening diplomatic relations, promoting South South Cooperation and supporting development efforts across African countries and beyond.
Yakub also encouraged the returning volunteers to continue serving as ambassadors of peace and national unity wherever they find themselves.
As part of the programme, certificates were presented to the volunteers in recognition of their successful participation and contributions during the foreign assignment.
The volunteers expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NTAC management for the opportunity to serve, describing the experience as impactful and rewarding.
Speaking on behalf of the team, the head of the volunteers thanked the agency for its support throughout the mission and highlighted the cordial relationship they enjoyed with their host communities in Uganda.
The debriefing session also provided an opportunity for the volunteers to share their experiences, challenges and achievements during the assignment, while making recommendations aimed at improving future deployments under the Technical Aid Scheme.
The event further underscored Nigeria’s commitment to international cooperation, technical assistance and regional development through the activities of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps.
