Petition written by Mr. Ukaegbu Chimezie Emmanuel, HRM Eze Obinna H. Nwagbara, hrm Eze Ikeawuchi Ekeke, Sir Marc Wabara for themselves and on behalf of the Oil and Gas host communities of Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
The petition titled, “Cases of brutal killings and shooting of Asa people by the Chinese and their Agents at Inner Galaxy Steel Company Limited, Umuahala Asa in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, Abia State, signed by the Acting President General, ADU, Barr. Godson O.C. Ihenko and the Secretary General, Sir Boniface U. Nwaigwe, prayed the House of Representatives to unravel the circumstances surrounding the painful and unfortunate deaths of Miss Ocheze Ogbonna and Mr. Chimobi Dikeji and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.
Petition on behalf of the youth forum of a community against a steel company on alleged unscrupulous labor practices, violating community laws and pollution of natural resources.
Petition on behalf of a complainant against the alleged trespass and sale of part of property by some staff of Kaduna Polytechnic.
Petition on behalf of a community calling for the reinstatement of a contract to secure oil pipelines from Imo River to Abia state to local contractors, and request for the enforcement of local Content Laws.

1.4 EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION
Hon. Chris Nkwonta successfully paid bursary to 224 undergraduate students across the twenty Wards in Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency for the 2023/2024 academic session, in various institutions of higher learning.
1.5 ELECTRICITY INTERVENTION

 

It is on record that prior to the assumption of office as the Member representing Ukwa East & West Federal Constituency, Hon. Nkwonta facilitated:
The restoration of light in Ukwa East Local Government Area in collaboration with the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and a few others with the sum of Fourty Three Million Naira (N43,000,000.00) whereas the Governor donated Twenty Million Naira (N20,000,000.00), Six million Naira (N6,000,000.00) came from others while Eighteen Million Naira (N18,000,000.00) came from Hon. Nkwonta. However, within the period of 18 months of being a member of the House of representatives,
Hon. Chris Nkwonta rehabilitated and commissioned Ukwa Electricity Feeder, Ohanso Power Substation and Ohambele Power Substation with the sum of Twenty Eight Million (N28,000,000.00).
Provision of Solar street lights in selected areas in the 20 Wards across Ukwa East and West Federal Constituency
1.6 HEALTHCARE INTERVENTION
Hon. Chris Nkwonta facilitated the siting of Federal Medical Centre Umuahia Annex in Akwete, Ukwa East Local Government Area. It is noteworthy that he also donated his 24 Room Hotel in Akwete free for the takeoff of the medical centre while other financial commitments are still in process in order to fully operationalize the medical centre.
1.7 AGRICULTURAL INTERVENTION
Hon. Chris Nkwonta distributed over 750 bags of fertilizers to farmers in Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency in 2024.
1.8 WELFARE INTERVENTION
Hon. Chris Nkwonta distributed food items including rice and beans in excess of 5000 bags. He also distributed over 2000 cartons of noodles, 2500 cartons of vegetable oil and other items as part of his welfare package to his constituents.
1.9 INFASTRUCTURAL INTERVENTION
Hon. Chris Nkwonta in collaboration with the NDDC and other relevant stakeholders has facilitated the rehabilitation Obehie/Azumini road Phase. The said rehabilitation work will effectively commence in January 2025.
In addition, he also facilitated the following projects:

Solar powered borehole in Obeaku Health Center, Ukwa East LGA – (Completed)
Solar powered borehole in Ikwuorie, Ukwa East LGA – (Ongoing)
Solar powered borehole in Umuorie, Ukwa West LGA – (Completed)
Construction of Classroom Blocks in Umuiku Primary School, Ukwa West LGA – (Ongoing)
Construction of Classroom Blocks in Akwete Town School, Ukwa East LGA – (Ongoing).  Renovation of Boys Hostel in Police Secondary School, Ubeaku, Ukwa East LGA.
Attracted the rehabilitation of Ohanso/Obunku/Obohia 2km Road.
1.9.1 SKILL ACQUISITION AND MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT

Trained 100 Youths and Women in Bead Making, Marketing and Cosmetics across the 20 Wards in Ukwa East & Ukwa West Federal Constituency in November 2024.
Trained and empowered 100 Youths and Women with Farming Material in Ukwa East/West Federal Constituency of Abia State

1.9.2 EMPOWERMENT.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, Hon. Chris Nkwonta executed a landmark empowerment program where several Constituents were empowered with the following Items:
