The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has announced plans to roll out a coordinated, data-driven framework aimed at improving humanitarian interventions and supporting vulnerable Nigerians toward long-term self-reliance.
The Honourable Minister, Dr. Bernard Doro, disclosed this during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN), led by its Director-General, Dr. Patrick Dakum. The visit was to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and explore areas of collaboration.
Dr. Doro said the Ministry is developing a structured system with clear entry and exit points for beneficiaries to ensure that assistance delivers sustainable outcomes. He noted that the One Humanitarian, One Poverty Reduction System will enhance coordination, track interventions, and support evidence-based decision-making.
He added that the initiative will promote self-reliance among beneficiaries while strengthening collaboration with sub-national governments.
Earlier, Dr. Dakum reaffirmed IHVN’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry to address humanitarian and healthcare challenges affecting vulnerable populations.
The initiative underscores the Federal Government’s focus on transparency, coordination, and data-driven solutions in humanitarian response and poverty reduction efforts.
