Deputy Senate President Barau Attends APC Governors’ Strategic Summit in Abuja

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau was among top political leaders who attended the Progressive Governors’ Forum strategic summit held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting, organised by the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), brought together governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the National Assembly and other senior government officials.

Barau joined the session shortly after representing Nigeria at a recent ECOWAS Parliament engagement. The summit focused on reviewing government programmes and strengthening coordination among party leaders.

The forum is chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma. Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the meeting on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Participants discussed efforts to address economic challenges, improve security and expand opportunities across the country. They also examined ways to align legislative and executive actions to support government policies.

Speaking after the meeting, Barau stressed the importance of cooperation among party leaders and lawmakers to ensure that policies deliver measurable results for citizens.

Observers say the strategy session is part of ongoing consultations within the ruling party as it seeks to respond to public concerns and set priorities for the months ahead.
