Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has announced a new name for his political support group, expanding it to include Kano State Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf as part of a broader effort to promote unity and political cooperation in the state.
Senator Barau Jibrin has rebranded his political support structure from the Tinubu/Barau Organisation to the Tinubu, Abba, Barau Organisation, a move he said reflects the shared aspirations of party members and supporters in Kano State.
The announcement was made on Tuesday during an event at the Kano Government House, where Barau received Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing supporters at the gathering, the Deputy Senate President said the decision was inspired by the strong show of unity displayed at the event. He recalled that chants in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Yusuf echoed loudly from the crowd, signalling widespread acceptance of the leadership of both men.
According to him, the response from supporters showed a collective resolve to work together for the progress of Kano State and the country.
Barau explained that, going forward, all political groups previously operating under the Tinubu/Barau Organisation would now function under the new name.
Reflecting on his political journey, Barau said his more than three decades in public life had been guided by a commitment to service and the wellbeing of the people of Kano State and Nigeria.
He reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged continued support for the administration’s policies and programmes, noting that collaboration among leaders is key to delivering meaningful results for citizens
